Jacob Robbins, the first cousin of Nathaniel Robbins, and his wife Sarah Spillman. Nathaniel, a country doctor and Clackamas County delegate to the Oregon Constitutional Convention, built the house at Schatz Farm. Together, Nathaniel and Jacob led the Robbins wagon train over the Oregon Trail in 1852.

This account can be found in its entirety on the Forney Clark genealogy website.

Thank you to Kevin Mittge for the photograph of Jacob and Sarah. He chronicles Robbins family history on his blog, Robbins Roots.

Errata: Carson refers to Jacob Robbins as the nephew of Nathaniel, but they were, in fact, cousins. Carson also refers to this story as a first person account, but much of it takes place before the birth of its teller.
